Trump and Harris to stage duels in Texas

With less than two weeks until Election Day, and with millions of Americans already voting, the Democratic National Committee is shifting its ground game operations into high gear in preparation for the final sprint.

If you had a knock on your door last weekend, there’s a good chance it was one of the canvassers the DNC said was using its proprietary canvassing software to seek out possible Democratic voters.

And those text messages you get from Democratic campaigns aren’t just feeling as if they were becoming more and more frequent; they actually are. The DNC says it has invested millions of dollars in improving its cell phone lists to reach more than 80% of voters, a 50% increase from 2016.

In a memo released today, the DNC also touts its coordination with JeVote.coma DNC-funded company that allows voters to find voting and drop-off locations near them, as well as resources that alert users of their voter registration status. More than 72,000 people went to their polling stations yesterday, according to the DNC.

All of this requires significant financial resources – of which the Harris campaign and the DNC have no shortage. New analysis from NBC News says outside groups spent $464 million supporting the Democratic campaign — on top of the $1 billion raised by the Harris campaign during the third quarter.

To put that in perspective, that’s more than the gross domestic product of more than a dozen countries, writes NBC News’ Ben Kamisar.

On the GOP side, the Trump campaign is touting its Trump Force 47 voter outreach program as the key to its success on the ground. Outside groups, including America PAC and Elon Musk’s Turning Point Action, are also contributing to the door-to-door and texting efforts.
