There was a time when HCIL (Honda Cars India Ltd) offered a wide range of vehicles from the Brio at the lower end to the Accord executive sedan with a sophisticated hybrid powertrain at the higher end. Now, HCIL offers only three vehicles: Amaze, City and Elevate. The new generation Amaze is currently being tested and could significantly increase Honda’s sales.

Honda Cars India Ltd sold a total of 5,546 units in the domestic market last month. Compared to the 9,400 units sold in September 2023, HCIL saw a massive decline of 41% YoY, losing 3,854 units in volume YoY. Compared to 5,675 units sold in September 2024, a month ago, HCIL’s sales of 5,546 units in October 2024 saw a monthly decline of 2.27%, losing 129 units in MoM volume.

As for exports, HCIL shipped a total of 4,534 units last month, representing a year-on-year growth of 23.11%, compared to 3,683 units shipped in October 2023. However, Honda shipped 5,236 units in September 2024, resulting in a 13.41% month-on-month decline. exports, losing 702 units in MoM volume.

Except for the annual export analysis, the rest of the sales performance saw a decline in both the annual and monthly analysis. In total (domestic + exports), HCIL sold 10,080 units and managed to register a decline of 22.95% YoY, with a loss of 3,003 units in volume YoY and a decline of 7.62%. over one month, losing 831 units in volume.
