Will my phone automatically switch to Daylight Saving Time?

It’s that time of year again. The leaves are changing, the weather is getting colder, and it’s time to turn your clock back an hour. That’s right! On Sunday, November 3, Daylight Saving Time officially ends and you’ll need to set your clock back one hour.

However, it is important to know if your phone will automatically switch to Daylight Saving Time or if you need to do it manually. This is a question that applies no matter what phone you own. That you rock a iPhone16, Google Pixel 9, Samsung Galaxy S24or any other smartphone, it is essential to know whether or not you should change it for the new time.

Before the advent of smart devices, we manually changed clocks to adjust them to Daylight Saving Time or Standard Time. However, some clocks, such as wall clocks, oven clocks and car clocks, are still not connected to the Internet and require manual adjustment.

If your smartphone’s software is up to date, its clock should adjust automatically. But if you had already customized the date or time settings, you may need to update your clock manually to make sure it’s ready.
