The digital surveying initiative will significantly reduce the complexities associated with land ownership, disputes and associated disputes, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives AF Hassan Ariff said today (November 2).

“Through technology, we will be able to get precise measurements, from the smallest details to the millimeter. This will eliminate land-related unrest in society,” the advisor told reporters while inspecting the digital survey project at Nabiganj Ferry Ghat in Narayanganj.

He said much of society does not have a clear understanding of land surveying, which has led to recurring grievances. “To address this problem, the government has launched a digital land surveying initiative aimed at making land records more accessible and transparent.”

Hassan Ariff added: “Previously, obtaining land records was a lengthy and often unclear process. Now we can access our land records online. Paying property taxes will also become easier.

“We have set up a call center where people from remote areas can lodge complaints and appropriate action will be taken,” he added.

The advisor also mentioned that the total cost of this project is estimated at Tk 383 crore, which is expected to be completed by October 2026.
