Procedures for working with migrant children are analyzed within the framework of the Turkish child protection system, with emphasis on the principle of “the best interests of the child”. Additionally, the guide includes an annex presenting a child protection checklist for professionals working with migrant children, aimed at helping them effectively protect and enforce children’s rights in line with European standards .

The guide was developed to strengthen the knowledge of different professionals on the legal regulations applicable to child protection in the context of migration and to help them use the existing child protection system more effectively to ensure better protection of migrant children.

The action “Strengthening the protection of human rights in the context of migration in Türkiye» is part of the joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey”.
