The first weekend of November is here and while most people are understandably focused on Daylight Saving Time, I’m here to tell you that there’s a bigger event going on right now. Retailers are deploying their Black Friday deals and there’s no need to wait until Thanksgiving Day to start your holiday shopping.

I’ve been a deals writer for 17 years, and while I used to suggest shoppers wait until the end of November for the best Black Friday deals, that’s no longer the case. Since Amazon launched its October Prime Day, retailers have pushed their holiday sales back to mid-October. Is there a chance that the price of some items will drop further? Sure, but today’s deals are so good that I don’t foresee a major price drop in the coming days. (And in the rare case where I expect further price drops, I will make this clear in my recommendations).
