His first appearance in a Scotland shirt since the 2023 World Cup after injuries besieged him, but he came back strongly.

Four tries took it to 28 for Scotland, equaling Duhan van der Merwe’s record set this summer. However, the taller, blonder winger scored moments later to once again claim top spot.

Graham spoke to Andy Burke after the match: “It wasn’t bad, was it? I loved putting that jersey on again.

“When you’re out that long, you start to wonder when it’s going to happen again, if it’s going to happen again. You have doubts in your head, but I’m just excited to be back.

“The next thing for me is to aim for this 50th selection, it’s my childhood dream.

“I joined him for five minutes! It’s a lot of fun, a good competition between me and Duhi (van der Merwe). We’ll go into the thirties, I think.”
