A 44-year-old Singapore permanent resident died in an accident on Malaysia’s North-South Expressway in the early hours of Wednesday (October 31).

The woman, Chang Lee Won, was killed instantly.

She was traveling with her husband, a Singaporean, and their two sons aged 16 and 19 during the Deepavali holiday.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the family was likely traveling to Kuala Lumpur, Chang’s hometown, when the accident happened around 5 a.m.

They were traveling in a Hyundai Starex.

The husband and his 16-year-old son were slightly injured, while the 19-year-old son and the Malaysian driver were seriously injured.

The Malaysian driver and Bangladeshi passenger in the other vehicle, a Toyota Unser, were slightly injured.

Yong Peng rescue personnel were alerted to the incident at 5:04 a.m. and the operation lasted about an hour and a half.

According to Shinmina neighbor of the family declared that the youngest son is in secondary 4, while the eldest had just joined national service.

The neighbor added that the family occasionally visited relatives in Malaysia during the long vacation.
