CFA Society Bangladesh welcomes 26 new CFA charter holders

CFA Society Bangladesh, at its eighth CFA Charter Awards ceremony on Thursday (October 31) in the capital, welcomed 26 new charter holders, taking the country’s total to over 200.

CFA Society Bangladesh is the local member society of the US-based CFA Institute, a global association of investment professionals that sets the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence in the industry of investment.

Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Chairman of Sonali Bank and former Finance Secretary, who also served as the 12th Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh, spoke as the chief guest of the event, while Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Abu Daiyan, Mohammad Ahsanullah, led a session on macro and fiscal issues. management.

CFA Society Bangladesh Vice President Md Iqbal Hossain emphasized on ethical behavior, professionalism and prioritizing the client’s interest while making financial and investment decisions.

Marg Franklin, CEO of CFA Institute, and Asif Khan, President of CFA Society Bangladesh, in separate video messages, say charterholders have the potential to shape a more trustworthy financial sector, ultimately serving society better .

To obtain the CFA charter, candidates must successively pass three levels of exams, which are widely considered to be the most rigorous in the investment profession in the world.

The CFA curriculum includes ethical and professional standards, financial reporting and analysis, corporate finance, economics, quantitative methods, equities, fixed income, alternative investments, derivatives , portfolio management and wealth planning.

Currently, around 2 lakh investment professionals in 160 countries and territories hold the CFA charter.

The new charter holders

Among the recipients of Chartered Financial Analyst designation were Bangladesh Bank Additional Director AKM Fazlul Haque, Joint Directors Md Tariqul Islam, Shaikh Azam Ali, Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority.
