NBA admits missed call in Warriors-Rockets overtime game

The Golden State Warriors improved to 5-1 in the NBA season with their victory over the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. Once again without Steph Curry, the Warriors managed to secure their third straight victory, each without the superstar point guard.

Scheduled for a re-evaluation on Sunday after going through his usual warm-up routine on Saturday, Curry could return to the game on Monday against the Washington Wizards. In the meantime, Golden State did well to impose itself in his absence.

With Saturday’s game going into overtime, the NBA released a Last two minutes report which detailed a missed call in the final two minutes of regulation.

According to the NBA, Draymond Green should have been whistled for his sixth foul at 1:26 remaining in the fourth quarter.

“Green (GSW) jumps from point A to point B and makes contact with Thompson (HOU), which affects his driving shot attempt,” the NBA wrote.

Houston ended up getting an offensive rebound and scoring on that play, but Green should have fouled with 1:26 left, instead of eight seconds left when he was ultimately disqualified.

“Green (GSW) makes contact with Eason’s (HOU) right arm, causing him to lose control of the ball,” the NBA wrote on Green’s sixth and final foul, confirming that the call was correct.

The loss dropped Houston to a 3-3 mark on the season, putting them tied with the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference standings.
