Two wanted men arrested at Mount Juliet traffic stop

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two wanted men were arrested following a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet on Sunday, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD).

Police said they initiated a traffic stop on Pleasant Grove Road for an improper display of a rear license plate because the temporary tag did not match the vehicle.

During the stop, the officer discovered that the driver, a 35-year-old man from Chattanooga, and the passenger, a 39-year-old man from LaVergne, had active arrest warrants in several counties and states, a indicated the MJPD.

The Chattanooga man was also found to be driving on a revoked license and was wanted on the following charges:

• Failure to appear on dangerous drug charge from Georgia
• Failure to appear on a revoked license charge in Sumner County
• One charge of shoplifting in Rutherford County
• Two additional failure to appear warrants from Bradley County
• Another failed appearance outside Florida

The LaVergne man was wanted on the following charges:

• Two arrest warrants for failure to appear in Nashville for felon in possession of weapon and driving with suspended license
• Wilson County arrest warrants for failure to appear on a license suspension charge and simple drug possession.

MJPD also found the LaVergne man to be in possession of methamphetamine.
