MINNEAPOLIS – For the second week in a row, it appears Sam Darnold is at the center of a controversial play. Last week, officials missed an obvious facemask on the Rams, leading to Darnold’s sack and safety. Sunday night, Darnold was the victim of a fumble that the Colts recovered and ran for a touchdown. Officials immediately threw a flag for what may have been unnecessary brutality, then deemed the contact legal and took it back.

Will Reichard’s streak ends at 34

Rookie kicker Will Reichard was a perfect 34-for-34 on the season on Sunday night between field goals and extra points. He ended up missing 53 yards in the first half, which also means he’ll get a new haircut next week. To make matters worse, he hit a shot off the right upright late in the first half from 31 yards out, which should have been a free kick for the rookie.

After an error-filled first half, the Minnesota Vikings trailed the Indianapolis Colts only 7-0 at halftime.
