Stocks opened comfortably higher on Friday, but lost steam as the session progressed. Nonetheless, the continued rally in several large-cap stocks has kept the Nasdaq Composite green until the end. THE S&P500 drifted into negative territory at the end of the session, and the blue chip Dow Jones Industrial Average finished in the red as McDonald’s continued to struggle.

In numbers, the Nasdaq gained 0.6% to 18,518. The S&P 500 lost 0.03% to 5,808 and the Dow Jones fell 0.6% to 42,114, while the MCD fell 3 %. The fast food giant finished with an 8% weekly loss after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said it investigate an outbreak of E. coli related to McDonald’s Quarter Pound hamburgers.
