Gartner Releases First Magic Quadrant for Identity Verification

Consulting firm Gartner has released a new market research report for the identity verification and authentication industry, placing companies such as Sumsub, Secure And Entrust among the leaders in the sector.

The very first Gartner Magic Quadrant for Identity Verification was released this week, ranking a total of 11 companies in four categories, based on their “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision” based on their maturity and direction. The company says its data analysis takes into account factors such as financial health, sales, pricing, customer experience, business models, as well as marketing, sales and product strategy. A blog post of Inverid notes that to qualify, companies must have at least $100 million in revenue, or $30 million with year-over-year growth of 30 percent.

Mandatory features to consider include photo and data capture, document authenticity checks, and biometric facial verification. NFC is not, Inverid grades, although he received an honorable mention in the report. Gartner noted that Inverid’s technology is integrated by many other identity verification vendors, including Entrust.

In addition to the trio, the “Leaders” quadrant includes Jumio And Incode Technologies. Vendors in this quadrant are considered to have the highest composite scores in Gartner’s analysis.

“Leaders deliver a broad and comprehensive IDV product that addresses a wide range of use cases and customer needs,” the consulting firm says. “They have managed to build a significant installed customer base and revenue stream. »

In the “Visionaries” quadrant, which represents market transformation, Gartner highlighted Mitek Systems And Au10tix. Vendors in this space are typically selected based on whether they offer identity verification in ways that are unique, innovative, or include forward-looking product strategies. They represent particular market segments or geographic regions and receive frequent inquiries from Gartner clients.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant includes two other categories. “Challengers” are companies that are sufficiently successful to threaten the “leaders”, but which remain relatively small. Character was the only company in this category. Finally, “niche players” are companies that provide identity verification technology that is well suited to specific use cases. Gartner named 1Kosmos, GB Group And Zoloz in this group.
