OSHKOSH – Is there anyone who should be recognized for their impact on Oshkosh?

Are there people who are overlooked because of their good work in the community?

Guess what? You can help give them the praise they deserve.

After four years, Northwestern is finally bringing back the People of the Year list to help recognize key figures or community members who have raised the profile of Oshkosh and made a significant impact on the city in 2024.

But we need your help!

Submit your Person of the Year nominations to [email protected] by December 1 to ensure your nominee receives the recognition they deserve.

Please include your nominee’s full name and a few paragraphs detailing the positive impact they have had on Oshkosh during 2024.

From a prominent elected official to your next-door neighbor, absolutely anyone can be nominated, once you believe that person made a difference in Oshkosh this year.

Northwestern readers and staff profiled eight people on the latest 2020 People of the Year list, including four prominent figures who stepped up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those four people were UW-Oshkosh microbiologist Kim Langolf, UW-Oshkosh Police Chief Kurt Leibold, Oshkosh Public Library Assistant Director of Public Services Ruth Percey, and Director /Winnebago County Health Department Health Officer Doug Gieryn.

NBA star Tyrese HaliburtonOshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Amy Albright, Community & Nonprofit Leadership Consulting owner Jennifer Skolaski and Rodney’s Café owner Rodney Frazier were also recognized.

For this year’s list, we’ll take the best submissions from your readers, add our own nominations, and select the finalists before publishing this list later in the year.

But we can’t do it without you.

So make sure you receive these nominations before December 1st so we can recognize the people who have helped make Oshkosh what it is in 2024.
