    Election Day is a day of civic duty, but voting has its benefits.

    A number of companies are offering freebies and deals on Election Day on November 5.

    Election Day is not a federal holiday, but some states and local governments consider it a public holiday, meaning some offices may be closed.

    Here are the companies offering freebies and discounts on Election Day.

    Uber

    Uber is offering 50% off to riders heading to their polling station (up to $10). The app will also help users find the nearest polling location.

    Uber Eats is offering 25% off orders up to $15, with a minimum of $25. The offer is available from 6 p.m. local time on November 5 until 7 a.m. local time on November 6.

    Lyft

    Lyft is offering 50% off (up to $10) on Election Day for voters heading to the polls. Users can preload the VOTE24 commute code no later than November 5.

    Lime

    Lime, the electric bike and scooter company, is offering a free 30-minute ride to and from polling locations from October 29 to November 5 using the code VOTE2024.

    Krispy Kreme

    At Krispy Kreme, customers can get a free Original Glazed Donut, with no purchase or proof of voting required, in honor of “DOUGHmocracy.” You can also get an “I Voted” sticker from Krispy Kreme if you voted early or mailed in your ballot.

    At Fazoli’s

    Fazoli’s is offering $2 off a signature pastries menu item. These options include Baked Chicken Parmigiano, Baked Spaghetti, and Spicy Baked Ziti with Italian Sausage. In store only and at participating locations.

    Johnny Rocket

    Johnny Rocket customers who present an “I Voted” sticker on Election Day can get a free shake with any in-store purchase at participating Johnny Rockets locations.

    How are votes counted in US elections?

    Unlike many countries, American elections are highly decentralized and feature long race lists. Elections for the presidency and Congress, down to local offices, are run by county, city, and state election officials, not national election officials. Charles Stewart III, Kenan Sahin Distinguished Professor of Political Science at MIT, joined LiveNOW from FOX to break it all down.

    Pizza Round Table

    Round Table Pizza is offering $6 off a large or extra-large pizza to eat in, take out or deliver to participating locations on Election Day.

    Ikea

    Participating locations at Ikea will offer free frozen yogurt on Election Day with a coupon. Click here to download it.

    Yogurtland is offering 15% off all orders when guests bring their “I Voted” sticker to participating locations.
