Marvel Comics’ “Star Wars: Legacy of Vader” series follows Kylo Ren between “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker.”

Regardless of your stance on the Star Wars sequels, you have to admit that Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren (aka Ben Solo) was a highlight of not only those films, but the Skywalker saga as a whole. Now, Lucasfilm and Marvel plan to capitalize on it with Star Wars: Vader’s Legacy.

After The Rise of Skywalker didn’t give him the biggest farewell (although he remained one of the strongest pieces of the film), many fans have been asking for years for an exploration of his (short) tenure as supreme leader of the Prime Order. From February 5, 2025a new ongoing comic book series written by a Star Wars veteran Charles Soulé – one of the best writers currently working on the franchise – and drawn by Luke Ross will show us how Vader’s heir managed his complicated legacy as the nefarious First Order expanded across the galaxy.

The official announcement (via StarWars.com) also revealed Derrick Chew’s cover for issue #1 and previewed some panels, just so fans know what to expect from the art and tone. You can find Chew’s fiery first cover below:

“When fans talk to me about my work on Star Wars, two of my Marvel comic series come up more than anything else: my 2017 Darth Vader series with Giuseppe Camuncoli and my 2019 The Rise of Kylo Ren series with Will Sliney… I think both worked so well, in part because they were set in certain parts of the Star Wars timeline full of unanswered questions about the characters the audience really loves. This new series is not only a combination of these two books, but also an opportunity to explore an extremely rich and almost completely open section of the timeline,” admitted Soule, who is clearly aware of all the praise. his fantastic run at Darth Vader has received over the years (you should definitely take a look if you haven’t already).
