Guilty plea entered in 23rd Judicial District Court October 21-25

DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) – The 23rd Judicial District Court announced the following guilty pleas entered during the week of October 21-25, 2024:

ASCENSION PARISH

1. Patrick Beard, Port Allen, LA, 28, pleaded guilty to disarming a peace officer and was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred and placed on probation under supervision for 3 years.

2. Nekeetha Daniels, Prairieville, LA, 40, pleaded guilty to theft valued at $5,000 or more, but less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed. with 3 years unsupervised probation.

3. Clarence Johnson, Harvey, LA, 46, pleaded guilty to stalking and inappropriate telephone communications. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 1 year.

4. Bernard Jones, Prairieville, LA, 57, pleaded guilty to DWI 3rd offense and the crime of simple criminal damage to property. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

5. Detrick Steward, Prairieville, LA, 46, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and was sentenced to 2 years in prison with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and 3 years probation under monitoring.

6. Denisha Stokes, Geismar, LA, 44, pleaded guilty to illegal transmission of monetary funds and was sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and probation test under supervision for 3 years.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Adam Koenig. The Honorable Justice Steven Tureau presided over these cases.

7. Shiykem Tyler, Gonzales, LA, 22, pleaded guilty to unlawful use of weapons and was sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed in supervised probation for 2 years.

8. Marquell Green, St. Gabriel, LA, 20, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and 2nd degree aggravated battery. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 5 years.

9. Joshua Johnson, Denham Springs, LA, 33, pleaded guilty to simple burglary and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

10. Dennie Kramer, St. Amant, LA, 55, pleaded guilty to simple burglary (2 counts) and theft valued at $1,000 or more, but less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

11. Jermaine York, LaPlace, LA, 42, pleaded guilty to first-degree vehicular negligent injury and aggravated obstruction of a highway. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 5 years.

12. Tyrell Kelly, Gonzales, LA, 22, pleaded guilty to theft valued at $1,000 or more but less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 18 months in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed. on 18 months supervised probation.

13. Mickey Barker, Baker, LA, age 19, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of stolen property and was sentenced to 18 months in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on supervised probation for 18 months.

14. Justin Boudreaux, Raceland, LA, 31, pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful use of weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 9 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 6 years.

15. Raymond Brown, Donaldsonville, LA, 40, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, resisting an officer with force or violence and aggravated fleeing from an officer. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

16. Iverson Frank, Houma, LA, 19, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a firearm and was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on probation under supervision for 3 years.

17. Christine Jackson, Prairieville, LA, 26, pleaded guilty to forgery and identity theft. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

18. Kevin Johnson, Baker, LA, 56, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

19. Christopher Miller, Donaldsonville, LA, 49, pleaded guilty to domestic violence third or subsequent offense and was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served. It was ordered that one year of the said sentence be served and the remaining four years be suspended. Upon release from prison, the defendant must be placed on supervised probation for 5 years.

20. Lindsey Newman, Ocean Springs, MS, 38, pleaded guilty to theft valued at $1,000 or more, but less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended, and placed on supervised probation for 18 months.

21. Joshua Toler, Ocean Springs, MS, 44, pleaded guilty to theft valued at $1,000 or more, but less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Department of Corrections Louisiana with credit for time served, suspended, and placed on supervised probation for 18 months.

22. James Sims, Baton Rouge, LA, 22, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, unlawful use of weapons and aggravated criminal damage to property. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

23. Deonte Stampley, Prairieville, LA, 23, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of stolen property and was sentenced to 18 months in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed in 18 months supervised probation.

24. Joshua Trahan, Prairieville, LA, 44, pleaded guilty to simple theft and was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.
