The Oregon Ducks maintained their undefeated season with a wire-to-wire victory over the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines. Oregon is now the unanimous No. 1 ranked team in the AP poll.

Ohio State earned their best win of the season at Penn State on Saturday. The Buckeyes outscored the Nittany Lions by 10 points and still managed to win 20-13. Ohio State’s offense still hasn’t lived up to expectations, but this defense showed up in a big way.

Early on against Michigan State, it looked like the miraculous undefeated season was coming to an end as the Hoosiers lost 10-0. Regardless, Indiana scored 47 straight points and absolutely dominated to improve to 9-0. If they win 2 of their last 3 regular season games, a College Football Playoffs the place should be a lock.

What a disappointing loss for Penn State. The Nittany Lions got off to a good start at home against Ohio State but were unable to finish the game. Coach James Franklin is still looking for that iconic regular season victory.

There aren’t many teams that play better than Minnesota. The Gophers extended their winning streak to four games with a road victory over Illinois.

Illinois finally lost a game it was supposed to win. The Illini’s two losses on Saturday came at Penn State and Oregon. They lost to Minnesota at home and dropped a spot because of it.

This is no longer the same Iowa team from years past. These Hawkeyes can score. Iowa has scored 40 or more points in its last three wins, including its most recent win over Wisconsin, 42-10.

There isn’t much to say about Michigan that hasn’t already been said. The quarterback position remains an issue, although it looked more competent in the 38-17 loss to Oregon. They won’t go too far down because of who they played.

It seems crazy to put Washington at 9th, but this is a current power ranking and there aren’t nine teams better in the Big Ten right now than Washington. They beat USC and improved to 5-4. If they want to stay in this top ten, they can prove it with a good performance against Penn State next week.

Once upon a time, the 2024 Nebraska Cornhuskers were 5-1. Three weeks later, they have lost three straight games and still find themselves struggling to secure a bowl bid. Losing at home to UCLA can’t happen. They have a week off before going to USC.
