JOHNSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) – A burn ban has been issued effective immediately for Johnson County, Illinois.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, due to current weather conditions and high levels of fire danger, a burn ban is being instituted for Johnson County residents.

This ban includes all open burning activities, including but not limited to:

• Open flames
• Burning waste or debris
• Agricultural burning

This burning ban will remain in effect until further notice. Conditions will be reassessed regularly.

All residents and visitors are required to respect this ban. Violators may be subject to fire department charges.
