Approximately 2,670 Consumers Energy customers in Holly, Groveland and Springfield townships are affected by a planned power outage from 11 p.m. Friday, October 25 until approximately 7 a.m. Saturday, October 26.

A Consumers spokesperson said the outage will allow the company to make equipment upgrades.

The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures Friday night and Saturday morning between 36 and 42 degrees.

Consumers sent a postcard to customers including two maps of the affected areas; cards are included in this story.

The postcard stated that if the company failed to complete the work during the night of October 25-26, there would be another outage at 11 p.m. on Friday, November 1, which would last approximately seven hours.
