Founder of Tesla Elon Musk warned Monday that a female president, Kamala Harris, would use the levers of power to shut down X.

Musk, who acquired the platform for billions of dollars to protect free speech, spoke to podcaster Joe Rogan about his future after the election.

“If you didn’t do it, no one would have done it,” Rogan said. “And here’s the hilarious story I keep hearing from idiots. ‘Elon is a bad businessman. Twitter is worth, you know, 400% less than when he bought it.’ No, it wasn’t worth that to begin with. It wasn’t worth $44 billion, you’re wrong. And also, you’re not taking into account the advertiser boycott.

Musk agreed and said the Orwellian-named Digital Hate Center was a “total scam organization” like the Ministry of Truth. He called the group a “censorship organization” that “urged advertisers to boycott.”

Last year, The X Corp. Musk sued the Center for Countering Digital Hate, alleging it published “misleading claims” and exaggerated the prevalence of harmful content on X to thwart advertisers’ investments.

Although Musk has said some aspects of the boycott have eased, this election will be a watershed moment in the battle between government censorship and free speech.

“I think if Trump wins, we’ll see, you know, probably most of the boycott will be lifted,” he said. “But if Kamala wins, we will see this boycott strengthen and they will close it. There is no way that a Kamala’s Puppet Diet would allow X to exist.

“But do you really think they can close it? Is there a way to get there? » the podcast asked the host, later asking, “What would they do?”

Musk offered a few scenarios that he thinks could happen.

“They can go after the DOJ (Department of Justice), you know, and say, you know, they have all this kind of hate speech or misinformation or whatever, except they’re the ones pushing the misinformation. But that doesn’t stop them from filing massive lawsuits, you know, and using the DOJ,” he said.

Last year, the DOJ filed a lawsuit against SpaceXaccusing Musk’s company of discriminating against asylum seekers and refugees in its hiring decisions. A federal judge put that lawsuit on hold pending the outcome of SpaceX’s lawsuit.
