Jos Verstappen takes a new photo of the “whining” British press and its “loud mouths”

While the fight for the 2024 Formula 1 title has given everyone something to talk about this year, a different battle is raging behind the scenes.

Reigning champion Max Verstappen has had a lot to say about the British press and what he feels is a lot of bias against him. Now, father Jose Verstappen spoke out, asserting that his son’s dominant position Brazilian Grand Prix the victory should be more than enough to silence the critics.

Jos Verstappen takes another look at ‘whiny’ British press

Max Verstappen has taken pride in leading the 2024 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship since the first race of the season – but after several seasons of dominance, fans and pundits were ready to see something new in the title fight .

When McLaren’s Lando Norris scored a shock victory in Miami, it was just the breath of fresh air the series needed.

The battle between Norris and Verstappen became fiercer as the season progressed, and this fierce battle also began to be felt in the media. This has led Verstappen to lash out at the British press, which he perceives to be biased against him and in favor of a British driver for a British team.

After his dominant victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix by more than 19 seconds, Verstappen looked at the gathered journalists at the post-race press conference and asked: “I have a quick question here.

“I mean, I appreciate you all being here,” he said, referring to the multitude of Brazilian journalists asking questions for local publications, “but I don’t see any British press.

“Did they have to run to the airport – or do they not know where the press conference is taking place?”

Jos Verstappen was on hand at Interlagos, witnessing his son’s impressive victory – and he had plenty to say afterwards.

Dutch publication De Telegraaf spoke to the elder Verstappen, who felt it was the perfect performance to silence the critics.

“It’s Max’s perfect response to a lot of complaints, and certainly towards the English,” Verstappen told De Telegraaf.

“Commentators, journalists and former pilots. They’re going to keep their big mouths shut for a while now. Max showed he was the best.

“These people who then shout that he should change the way he drives? His driving style is perfect!

“Also a first lap in the rain, where he gained six places. It is still perfect in these conditions.

While you would certainly expect a father to be proud of his son, Verstappen’s drive was undeniably impressive, with commentators calling it “generational dynamism” and perhaps a defining moment in the career of the Dutch pilot.
