Election Day has only just begun, with Florida polls opening at 7am this morning.

More than 8 million voters in Florida mailed in their ballots or voted in person, according to the latest figures from the Florida Division of Elections.

For those who are go to the polls or return your absentee ballot, here’s what you need to bring.

When do polls open in Florida?

On Election Day, polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. If you are still waiting in line after the deadline, you will be allowed to vote.

What should I bring with me to vote?

You must have a photo ID with your signature to vote. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Florida Driver’s License
  • Florida ID Card (issued by DHSMV)
  • American passport
  • Debit or credit card
  • Military ID card
  • Student card
  • Retreat Center ID
  • Neighborhood Association ID
  • Public Assistance ID
  • Veteran’s Identification Card (issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)
  • Concealed Weapon Permit (issued in accordance with FS 790.06)
  • Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency or entity of the federal, state, county or municipal government.

What happens if my ID does not have my signature?

If your photo ID does not include your signature, you will be asked to provide another piece of ID with your signature.

If you are unable to provide identification, the Florida elections website says you can vote with a provisional ballot. Your ballot will count if the signature on your ballot matches the signature on your voter registration record.

Do I need to bring my Florida voter ID?

No, you are not required to bring your Florida voter ID as long as you are registered to vote and can provide an accepted form of identification.

I am returning my absentee ballot. Do I need my ID card or my voter card?

Mail-in ballots can be placed in secure drop boxes at supervisors of elections main and branch offices until 7 p.m. (local time) on Election Day. You do not need to provide your ID or voter card to cast your ballot.
