Free workshops available to help young creatives develop their camera skills

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Calling all young creatives interested in photography and videography! You have the opportunity to develop your skills to free thanks to the Memphis Music Initiative (MMI) “Free Game” series.

Over the next three Saturdays in November, MMI will host workshops to help young creatives enrich their portfolio.

Events are open to people ages 16 to 30. Four participants will leave with a paid opportunity.

Participants will work with cameras, groups and more.

MMI says the free game series helps Memphis creatives get the exposure they deserve, without limits.

“Any artist knows it costs a lot to get recordings like that. And if you’re starting out as a photographer or videographer, it’s hard to get those opportunities when you’re starting out,” said Brandy Casseus of MMI. “So I want them to leave with real, meaningful help. It’s just free help, free resources, and since we’re neighbors with the Grizzlies, why not give them some free play? »

The first workshop will take place on Saturday November 9.

The final workshop will culminate in an open mic event at the end of the month.

Remember, the workshop is free, but you must register to attend.
