David White will coach two of his students in the biggest International Taekwon-Do Federation tournament of the year.

White is the owner and head coach of Vernon’s Sundance Martial Arts and will travel to Argentina with two club members for the ninth annual ITF World Cup in Buenos Aires.

White said the Oct. 28-Nov. 3 tournament will see more than 1,700 competitors meet for sparring, power moves, models and other competitions.

Sundance will be represented by 16-year-old Jack Sharkey, who will compete in the Junior Boys Second Dan (black belt), Junior Boys over 75kg, Junior Boys team sparring and Junior Boys special technique categories.

Sharkey is no stranger to elite competition, having won the world championship in Finland in 2023

Shelby Richard, 21, will compete in the women’s 1st Dan events and the women’s powerbreak.
