Below is a look at the top races we’re tracking on election night:

2024 presidential election

AP predicts Donald Trump will win South Carolina.

Early polls from multiple sources suggest a tight race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Battleground states like North Carolina and Georgia will be key in deciding the outcome of the election.

American House – South Carolina District 3

Republican Sheri Biggs won the race for the congressional seat against her Democratic challenger Bryon Best.

American House – South Carolina District 4

Republican incumbent William Timmons is expected to beat his Democratic challenger Kathryn Harvey. Timmons was endorsed by Trump in his re-election bid.

SC and NC constitutional amendments

Residents of South Carolina and North Carolina voted to amend their state’s constitution to stipulate that only a U.S. citizen qualified to vote can vote in an election.

Local voting questions

In Greenville County, voters will decide the fate of the controversial 1 percent sales tax increase intended to repair the county’s roads.

Greenwood County voters will also consider sales taxes on capital projects. Anderson County voters will consider a transportation sales tax and bond measure.

Union County voters will determine whether or not to allow alcohol sales on Sundays.

North Carolina gubernatorial race

North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein wins gubernatorial bid(FOX Caroline)

Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein is expected to win the race for governor of North Carolina, defeating Republican Mark Robinson. Stein will succeed term-limited Gov. Roy Cooper.

North Carolina voters will also decide the lieutenant governor, attorney general, superintendent of public instruction and more. A seat on the Supreme Court is at stake, as well as three seats on the Court of Appeal.
