Trump makes unsubstantiated claim about ‘massive cheating’ in Philadelphia

Late in the afternoon on Election Day, former President Donald Trump posted an unsubstantiated claim on social media about “massive CHEATING” in Philadelphia, which he said had attracted the attention of the forces of order.

The Philadelphia Police Department, the Philadelphia District Attorney, a Republican city commissioner and the Pennsylvania Department of State have all refuted this claim.

Philadelphia Police Department told CNN he was not aware of any election-related issues that would have prompted a law enforcement response.

Trump has made unsubstantiated claims about Philadelphia before. In September, Trump cited the doubtful results of a poll commissioned by a conservative group as the basis for its claim of widespread voter fraud among mail-in voters in Pennsylvania.
