Five people were arrested in Kentucky after a 2-year-old boy was found “undressed” in a “caged area.”

On Monday, November 4, Detective Dave Roberts and the Carrollton Police Department responded to reports that a child may be detained in a confined area of ​​a property on 7th Street after receiving an “advance tip from the community” , A Facebook message confirmed.

“Upon arrival, Detective Roberts and Sergeant Taylor located a male child, undressed and under the age of 3, locked behind a wood and metal enclosure secured with a padlock,” police said in the message.

Brenda Chilton, 71, of Carrollton; William Mahoney, 72, of Carrollton; Codey Johnson, 29, of Carrollton; Tammy Simmons, 52, of Carrollton; and Shelby Turocy, 28, of Ghent, KY. were all arrested and face charges of criminal abuse and wanton endangerment, police confirmed in the Facebook post.

Turocy also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, the post states.

“Detective Roberts, Sergeant Taylor, Chief Willhoite, Deputy Chief Dews and Sergeant Dews secured the scene and executed a search warrant on the property,” police confirmed in the Facebook post. They added that “following a preliminary investigation, two children were removed from the home by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.”

Police have not confirmed that the boy is related to any of the five people arrested, who are currently being housed at the Carroll County Detention Center.
