In Memoriam in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a side quest you can pick up at Dock Town in Minrathous. This quest asks you to become a detective to help the spirit of Compassion bring peace to the victims of a wave of brutal murders.

However, as with most things in Dragon Age: The VeilkeeperThis is not a simple matter as demons will come between you and solving the murders. Don’t let that stop you, you are Rook and you have a job to do.

Without further ado, here is how to complete In Memoriam in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Dragon Age The Veilguard In Memoriam Walkthrough

To start In Memoriam, head to Razikale Walk in Dock Town and you will find a body with a sword crossed on the ground. We’ve marked the location on the map below for you:

Interact with the body to investigate it and several demons will appear, one of them will be Despondance and they are a bit stronger than the others. Fight them and the spirit of Compassion will appear in the body.

Talk to Compassion to learn that this is one of three demonic murders around Dock Town and, being helpful as you are, you decide to investigate them and find out who the victims were.

Murder One – Murder on the Bridge

To find out who the first murder victim is (since you’ve already found his body), go up the small stairs behind where you met Compassion, then follow the blood trail on the ground. This will take you to a staircase on your left.

At the top of the stairs, follow the trail of blood to your left and enter a small building here. Upon entering the building, there will be a book on the table to your left, interact with it to learn that the first victim was a gardener.

Compassion will reappear and you will have solved the bridge murder, which leaves two more to solve.

Murder Two – Murder at the Temple

Your first task for the second murder is to find the victim. To do this, exit the building you are in and follow the quest marker on your left. It will take you past a fast travel beacon and through a series of doors leading to the Temple of Andraste.

Here, head to your left, then go up the big stairs here. If you encounter Venatori here, deal with them or get past them (they’re not really important right now). Pass the courtyard into the temple and follow the path to the right through the pillars.

Then follow the path on your left until it takes you to Andraste’s Watch. Once outside, head to the wooden platform to your right and you will find the victim here.

Interact with them and more demons will appear, this time the strongest is Remorse, but you can eliminate them in the same way as you did earlier.

Once you defeat them, Compassion will appear next to the victim. Talk to them and your next task will be to find out who they were. From the body, follow the blood trail down the steps and to the right.

Continue following the path and it will take you to a workbench on a slightly raised area near a statue of Fen’Harel. Interact with the piece of paper on this desk to learn that the victim was a scholar named Marcus.

Now there is another murder to solve.

Murder Three – Market Murder

To find the last murder victim, we used the fast travel beacon located just to the left of the murder location marked on the map (this helped get there much faster):

From the marker, head left and follow the path until you find a set of large doors. In front of the doors you will see more blood trails, follow them to the left where you will find the victim near the wall here. As soon as you approach it, more demons will appear and the strongest one this time is called isolation. Remove them as you did with the previous sets.

Once the demons are down, talk to Compassion next to the body. From the body, follow the blood trail forward and to the left. When it stops, jump over the ledge onto the wooden platform to your right and climb the ladder here.

At the top of the ladder, go right and here you will find a scroll on the edge of a crate. Read this to learn that the victim was an artist.

That’s it, you will now have solved the three murders and brought peace to Compassion!
