Florida Amendment to Legalize Recreational Marijuana failed to reach 60% had to be adopted, even if it received more “yes” votes.

Amendment 3 asked voters consider a state constitutional amendment This would allow the possession, purchase and use of marijuana for non-medical purposes by adults 21 and older. It was sponsored by Smart & Safe Florida.

Although it received 55.9% of the vote, Amendment 3 fell short of the 60% threshold needed to pass. He received 5,934,139 votes in total.

Besides Florida, three other states had marijuana on their ballots. Also in Massachusetts, where medical services and recreational marijuana is already legal, voters have decided on the possibility of legalize psychedelics.

  • Nebraska – Initiative 437 was successful with 71% and Initiative 438 with 67%.
  • North Dakota – Measure 5 was not adopted after receiving 52.5% “no”.
  • South Dakota – Measure 29 was not adopted after receiving 57% “no”.
  • Massachusetts – Question 4 was not retained after receiving 56.9% “no”.
