JCBL announced the launch of a dental clinic on wheels under the Smile Himalaya project; an initiative led by Rotary International (Germany and Bangalore), Swami Vivekananda Sewa Trust (Karnataka) and Vision Himalaya (Ladakh), which aims to provide advanced dental care to remote villages of Ladakhwhere access to health care is a considerable issue.

Dental clinic on wheels: features and details

Designed and manufactured by JCBL, the mobile clinic is purpose-built to navigate the rugged terrain of Ladakh, providing essential dental services to communities with limited access to healthcare. It ensures that all dental equipment is well integrated into the examination area and storage space.

By converting a Caravan chassis into a fully functional dental facility, it can treat one patient at a time while allowing 2 or 3 other patients to wait. It includes a foldable dental chair, wall mounts and a stool for medical staff. The vehicle also includes essential features such as a first aid kit, toolbox, document box, ambulance siren and a foldable ladder to ensure easy access and functionality in difficult conditions.

Designed for long-term use in remote areas, the mobile clinic can stay in one location for 3-4 days, providing health services to isolated communities.
