Jake Paul and Mike Tyson urged to make another huge rule change a week after fight

Mike Tyson has been urged to make another major rule change for his upcoming fight with Jake Paul to prove they are not in cahoots over the outcome.

Ever since Jake Paul and Mike Tyson announced they would fight, many skeptics have wondered if it would be a legitimate, professional fight. Given the huge age gap, an exhibition clash initially seemed the most likely, but both fighters pushed for it to happen under professional rules.

For now, that appears to be the case. There will be no helmets, they will use 14 oz gloves and spills will be allowed. However, a rule change has been made: switch to two-minute rounds instead of three minutes.

It was something Mike asked for, at least according to Jake. Now, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub has urged the heavyweight boxing legend to make another rule change.

“Mike Tyson, God bless him, withdrew because of ulcers. You know, it’s just difficult,” he said on The Schaub Show podcast.

“You want to intrigue people with this fight, which they can’t, they keep trying but they can’t. Do it with your bare hands. If Jake gets punched by Mike Tyson, that story is over because now you’re like “are they in cahoots together, is there a solution in the works?”

The former heavyweight contender noted that there appears to be a lack of interest in the fight as he has not been asked about it.

The move to a bare-knuckle fight would obviously circumvent the need for a boxing commission. However, it would still need to be ordered by a sports commission. That would take time, which Netflix and Jake probably don’t have.

The YouTuber turned boxer would have switched to MMA after this clash. It went this far the PFL having a “credible” opponent lined up for it.
