Michigan State basketball will look to improve to 2-0 on the year in another non-conference home game Thursday night.

The Spartans will host Niagara on Thursday night from the Breslin Center. This will be the second game of opening week for the Spartans, who dominated Monmouth in the season opener Monday night.

Niagara also opened the season earlier this week, earning a resounding victory over Division III foe Houghton. The Purple Eagles were picked to finish 8th out of 13 teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference preseason poll.

This looks like a very similar situation to what we saw in the Spartans’ season opener earlier this week. So I expect a similar result. I expect Michigan State to use another stifling defensive effort to pull out this win with relative ease.
