ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Scattered showers persist this evening across parts of north Georgia, primarily along and south of the I-85 corridor. Expect showers to gradually diminish overnight as temperatures slide into the mid to 60s across the region.

A flood watch is in effect for Jasper, Putnam, Morgan and Greene counties. Heavy rain could cause creeks to rise and flood some roads in this area.

The first alert forecast trended a little drier on Thursday and Friday. As the weekend approaches, we will see tropical humidity return to the region.
