Every once in a while, a movie comes with a pretty simple premise, but things get complicated by the time the end credits roll. Appearing in a parking lot, the two continue their fight until Lucy electrocutes and then stabs Quinn in the chest with her own knife, ending her life and her reign of terror. Summer and Quinn, having accepted the fact that they will never see Lucy again after jumping 21 years into the future, are shocked to see their sister and friend, respectively, appear out of nowhere and say that she is ‘go away. to stay in their time.

Towards the end of Time reductionQuinn and Summer ask Lucy why she returned to 2003 and didn’t stay in her original timeline, and her response leaves us with more questions than answers if we’re honest. Although she admits that she tried to return to her original reality to see if anything was different, Lucy reveals that her parents did not recognize her.

Since Summer was not killed, her parents did not father another child in an attempt to move on after Summer’s death. The fact that Lucy’s parents did not recognize her seems to confirm that they did not have another daughter. Or if they had a second child, that child wasn’t Lucy. So it’s likely that there won’t be a Lucy in 2024, but that also makes us wonder if Lucy hadn’t prevented Summer’s death, does that mean she would have found another version of itself existing in 2024? Or would she have simply returned to her old timeline with some changes due to her time travel activities?

Regardless, by the end of the movie, Lucy is a girl out of time, with no better place to be than 2003, where she can live out her life with Summer and Quinn, along with knowledge of everything that happens. passed. over the past 21 years.
