TV fans have expressed their outrage after a 24/7 Christmas TV channel launched before they had the chance to celebrate Halloween.

They wrote: “Far too soon. December 1st is the right date to start”; “Much too soon. I’m going to change, I’m afraid”; “I haven’t even had Halloween yet!” » ;

“FFS, it’s mid-October”; ‘I enjoy Christmas as much as the next excited kid, but I agree with you, it’s just too early!’; Absolutely… it takes away a bit of the excitement’;

“It’s nothing… Les Grands Films have been doing Christmas since September and Films 24 since the beginning of the month… not to mention their Christmas in July… way too early… mid-November yes, early December preferable…’

Kris Vaiksalu, head of programming for That’s Christmas, said in a press release: “Viewers have been writing to us all year with their programming wishes and we know there is a real feeling of anticipation for the launch of That’s Christmas.

“Part of what makes Christmas such a special time of year is knowing that the evenings will be lit up by some of the greatest television shows ever made.

“There are so many special anniversaries we wanted to mark this year: it’s Selwyn Froggitt’s 50th birthday, the 40th since Rising Damp and the 35th since A Bit of A Do and Stay Lucky.

“We’re delighted to be able to present these all-time classics, which represent an important part of our national television heritage, as part of our comedy festival this Christmas season.

Watching old comedies is a national Christmas tradition, but in recent years many of these favorites have disappeared from the festivities.
