What to know about Thursday’s SpaceX rocket launch from Cape Canaveral

Will the third time be the charm for SpaceX?

Already cleaned twice, SpaceX will once again attempt to launch its Starlink 6-77 mission from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral. Takeoff is scheduled for no earlier than 3:13 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

This mission was initially scheduled to take off on Sunday, November 3. but a helium problem forced the team to withdraw. SpaceX went ahead and launched the CRS-31 resupply mission for NASA on Monday eveningt of Pad 39A.

On Wednesday another attempt was made – with SpaceX even pushes the takeoff time to the end of the window. The official reason for the scrub was not given, but the 45th Weather Squadron had already predicted low chances of good weather.

SpaceX will attempt once again this afternoon, currently around 3:13 p.m., to launch this Starlink mission. Opportunities exist until 7:11 p.m.

For today, the 45th Weather Squadron predicted a 70 percent chance of favorable weather conditions with a low risk of weather violations in the booster landing zone.

Part of the Starlink group 6 satellites, this launch will follow a southeast trajectory.
