For the benefit of the thousands of pilgrims expected by train for Mahakumbh-2025 from across the country, the Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway (NCR) has decided to introduce multilingual announcements at railway stations for the first time in the mega history of the fair.

This will enable people speaking different languages ​​across the country to easily process train information announced in their own language, making their journey smoother and more comfortable, officials said.

The move is in addition to ongoing efforts to expand and beautify all railway stations in Prayagraj and introduce facilities to facilitate the journey of pilgrims, they added.

NCR Principal PRO Amit Malaviya said this initiative will benefit devotees across the country who speak different languages ​​and may have difficulty understanding Hindi or English, ensuring a more inclusive and convenient experience for everyone, he added.

He said that given India’s linguistic diversity, announcements will be made in 10 regional languages, in addition to Hindi and English. These languages ​​will include Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya and Punjabi, he said.

For this, announcers from different railway divisions who are fluent in their regional languages ​​would be involved. In addition, more loudspeakers for announcements will be installed in shelters and platforms to ensure maximum coverage.
