Trump wins latest victory: Putin congratulates “brave man” Trump and says he is ready to talk to him | US News

How Trump feels, according to a close official – and the ‘Achilles heel’ he wants to avoid

Donald Trump has “learned the lessons” of 2016 and intends to make good personnel decisions before returning to office, according to one of his senior campaign officials.

The president-elect spent yesterday speaking to world leaders from Mar-a-Lago in Florida after defeating Kamala Harris in the election.

“They were really happy to talk to him and knew he would come back, and he won that big election, and he said things like he learned lessons,” the official said.

Overall, there was a similar feeling of both relief and “like I had an old friend home,” they added.

Trump has lost some of his “bitterness” and seems determined to make good appointments in his teams, which the president-elect “knows was his Achilles heel” after his victory in 2016.

The source says Trump feels better about everything – himself, his accomplishments, and that he is buoyed by the election results.

He also says he is determined to keep his promises to those who elected him, whether it be energy or his promise not to add tax to tips.

“This was a campaign about American workers and everyday American workers,” the official said.

“I don’t think they did that in 2016, because it wasn’t as well thought out… They won, and that’s it. They forgot why they were brought there.”

In addition to speaking to more world leaders, Trump will meet with the transition team today as he plans to return to the White House.
