Jay Leno not a fan of Donald Trumpbut he has positive words for Election Day as a whole.

The old Tonight Show the host appeared on Wednesday’s episode of CBS‘ daytime show The speechwhere he said results of the November 5 presidential election marked “a great day for democracy”.

“There was no cheating; everyone said it was honest,” he said.

Talk co-host Natalie Morales also asked Leno what he remembered about hosting an episode of his late-night talk show the day after a big election.

“It was different in my day,” he said. “You kind of made fun of both sides.” He continued: “So you received angry letters from both sides. Now you kind of have to take sides. It’s a little different, but the good thing about this election is that it was fair. I wasn’t a fan, but that’s okay. He’s the president of the United States. Let’s all come together, thank you very much.

Leno added The speech that his fear is that there will be “name-calling” and other divisive actions in the days following the November 5 election, in which Trump was elected president-elect, defeating the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

His reaction was more optimistic than that of some others Democrats who work in Hollywoodincluding for example Billie Eilish, who posted: “It’s a war on women”. Christina Applegate posted: “Why?
