President Biden has no plans to pardon his son Hunter Biden, White House says

President Joe Biden is not considering pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, who was convicted of federal gun chargesreiterated White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a press briefing Thursday.

Hunter Biden is expected to be sentenced next month on gun-related charges as well as federal tax-related charges in a separate case.

When asked on Thursday if the president intended to pardon his son, Jean-Pierre replied: “We have been asked this question several times. Our answer stands, which is to say no.” .

Jean-Pierre said she had no comment on pardons the president intended to issue at the end of his term, including administration officials or people threatened by the president elected Donald Trump from legal action.

“I know pardons will be a big part of the questions I get here over the next few weeks and months that we have,” she said. “I have nothing to share and no thoughts on graces. Once we have something to share, we will certainly share it.”

No son of a sitting president has ever been the subject of a criminal trial.
