Billie Eilish criticizes Donald Trump after his 2024 election victory

Billie Eilish took a moment during his concert in Nashville on Wednesday night to discuss the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, which saw Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris.

During the show Eilish spoke to her fans and explained how she felt when she woke up with the results.

“I couldn’t really imagine doing the show that day, but as the day went on, I kind of felt like it was such a privilege to be able to do this with you guys and that we had this at a time like right now,” said the Grammy-winning artist, who previously approved Harris. “I love you so much, and I want you to know that you are safe with me, and that you are protected here, and that you are safe in this room.”

She explained that she was going to perform a song she wrote with her brother and frequent collaborator Finneas O’Connell that spoke about the “abuses that exist in this world on women” and the experiences she and those in she knows have lived.

“To tell you the truth, I’ve never met a single woman who didn’t have a history of abuse,” Eilish said. “I’ve dealt with some things myself, and I’ve been taken advantage of, and I’ve been, you know, my boundaries have been crossed, to put it politely.”

The Oscar winner continued: “Now a person who is a convicted predator, let’s say, a convicted predator. My God, my heart is racing. Someone who hates women so much is about to become president. This song is therefore aimed at all women.

Eilish then performed it Happier than ever track “Your Power”, which begins with the lyrics: “Try not to abuse your power / I know we didn’t choose to change / You might not want to lose your power / But having it is so strange / She said you were a hero, you played the part / But you ruined her in a year, don’t act like it’s hard.

“We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy,” Eilish said in supporting the vice president. “Vote like your life depends on it, because it does.”

O’Connell added: “We cannot let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”

The “Birds of a Feather” artist had posted on her Instagram story earlier today, writing, “This is a war on women.”

At his own concert in Seattle on Wednesday, Sabrina Carpenter apparently also addressed the election result.

“I hope we can be a moment of peace for you, a moment of safety,” she said on stage. “Sorry for our country and for the women here, I love you so, so, so much, and I really hope that for the rest of this night you can have fun, because you absolutely deserve it.”

Earlier this week, the nonprofit Headcount, which partnered with the “Please Please Please” singer on her Short n’ Sweet Tour, announced that it registered more voters than any other artist, with 35,814 voters, with an additional 263,087 voters engaged outside of registration.
