SAPS provincial spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said they received a tip-off from a member of the public, who spotted the suspicious group circulating in the town.

He says their team carried out a stop and search

“Police found three firearms, several rounds of ammunition and pieces of police uniform, including a bulletproof vest. All serial numbers were filed. The serial number of the bulletproof vest indicated that it was belonged to the police of Vryburg, in the North-West.”

The suspects, aged 29 to 55, will appear in court shortly.
