CBSE Date Sheet 2025 Live: Class 10th and 12th exam timetable is expected to be released on the official website soon, check details here

CBSE Date Sheet 2025 Live: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the class 10 and 12 board exam schedule soon on its official website. Recently, CBSE released the practical exam timetable, giving crucial information to students and schools as they prepare for the exams. Practical exams for most schools are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2025, while theory exams will begin on February 15, 2025. However, practical exams in winter regions will begin from November 5 to December 5, 2024.

To support the examination process in winter schools which will remain closed in January 2025, CBSE has provided standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for conducting practical examinations, project work and internal evaluations. Additionally, the board outlined the subject-wise grade distribution for classes 10 and 12, urging schools to carefully review and monitor this distribution as submitted practical grades cannot be changed.

CBSE has also released a comprehensive list of subjects for each class, detailing essential information such as subject codes, names, maximum marks for theory and practical components, project assessments, internal assessments and answer booklets specific requirements for theoretical exams. Schools are advised to review these guidelines to ensure a smooth examination process and avoid any missteps.

As per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, CBSE has introduced key changes in the 2025 examination pattern to improve skill-based learning. This revised format aims to strengthen students’ practical understanding of rote memorization with greater emphasis on skill-based questions. For class 10, 50% of questions will be skill-based, like previous years, while in class 12, the proportion will increase from 40% to 50% in 2025. These questions will include different formats, like choice questions multiple. (MCQ), case-based questions and integrated source-based questions, to better assess students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts.

The updated structure for 2025 will also see a slight reduction in questions focused on rote learning, promoting a deeper understanding of the material. Therefore, the number of constructed response questions, including short and long answers, will be slightly reduced in Class 10 and Class 12 exams.
