Republicans admitted they couldn’t wait until Project 2025 — a far-right blueprint for a second Trump presidency, created by the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation — was finally implemented.

During his election campaign, President-elect Trump claimed to know “nothing on Project 2025” or who was behind it, while a spokesperson for the Heritage Foundation told CNN that it “does not speak for any candidate.”

But now that Trump has won the presidential election in such a landslide, people are wondering if he will finally admit his involvement. And while he hasn’t spoken about it yet, his supporters admitted they’re eager for the Heritage Foundation’s initiative to be implemented.

“You voted for it, enjoy it. We tried to warn you,” warned an anti-Trump social media user on X/Twitter.

In a tweet that has been viewed more than eight million times, Daily Wire right-wing pundit Matt Walsh said: “Now that the election is over, I think we can finally say that yes, in fact, the 2025 project is on the agenda. »

On his War room podcast, former prisoner Steve Bannon, who served as Trump’s chief White House strategist for seven months, gave the same dire warning.

Bannon, who was recently released from a four-month prison sentence for contempt of Congress, said: “Matt Walsh, I think, is a very smart and funny guy. Now that the elections are over, I think we can finally say that Project 2025 is on the agenda.”

Right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson also commented, writing on X: “It is my honor to inform you that Project 2025 was real all along. »

What could Project 2025 mean for LGBTQ+ rights?

Project 2025 is an infamous draft manifesto for the ultra-conservative faction of the Republican Party and, many believe, for Trump’s second term.

It threatens to destroy the rights and progress of the LGBTQ+ community in the United States, with its authors claiming that one of the biggest problems facing the country is the “toxic normalization of transgender, with drag queens and pornography pervading school libraries”.

He then attacks “transgender ideology” which he considers to be a form of “pornography” linked to the “sexualization of children”.

With gender mentioned 111 times and “LGBT(Q)” 18 times, the document pledges to remove anti-discrimination policies and restrict healthcare for trans men and women.
