RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – While the political landscape may be changing in Washington, here in Eastern Carolina, political signs must soon go away.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is reminding politicians that their signs must be removed by November 15.

State law says signs must be removed from state right-of-way 10 days after the election.

The DOT says that after next Friday, it will be able to remove any signs that violate the law, create hazards for drivers or interfere with mowing and other maintenance operations.
