Daniel Lurie speaks out after London Breed concedes in SF mayoral race

In a stunning surprise, Levi Strauss heir Daniel Lurie – a man with no political experience – tops the rankings. San Francisco race for mayor after Tuesday’s election. The holder, Breed of London, offered dealership via a phone call Thursday, where she congratulated her opponent on his victory.

Lurie maintained his strong lead with 56.20% of the vote Thursday night, while Breed lagged behind with 43.80% in the 14th round of counting.

Lurie beat out 14 other candidates, including Breed and former acting Mayor Mark Farrell, as well as Supervisors Aaron Peskin and Ahsha Safai.

Lurie is scheduled to speak at St. Mary’s Square in San Francisco at 11 a.m. Friday.
