Jefferson City — Two members of the 2nd American Militia were convicted Thursday by a federal jury for their roles in a murder plot.

According to a new release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Jonathan S. O’Dell, 34, of Warsaw, Missouri, and Bryan C. Perry, 39, of Clarksville, Tennessee, planned to travel to Texas to shoot the illegal immigrants crossing into the United States. -Mexican border and murder of US border patrol agents who would try to stop them.

The release said O’Dell and Perry were found guilty of seven counts of attempted murder of FBI special agents, seven counts of assaulting FBI special agents with a deadly weapon , three counts of assaulting FBI special agents and 14 counts of using a firearm. for the prosecution of a crime of violence and one count of damage to federal property.

The U.S. District Court in Jefferson City, Missouri, deliberated for more than two hours before returning a guilty verdict, ending a two-week trial.

According to the press release, O’Dell and Perry each face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison without parole, and up to life in prison without parole.
