Northwood Performing Arts Center to host Beatles tribute band – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS – Tickets are available online for “Yesterday – The Las Vegas Beatles Tribute” event, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at the Northwood Performing Arts Center.

The Las Vegas Beatles tribute band, backed by Sir Paul McCartney himself, tours throughout the United States and abroad, including Japan, Canada, the Philippines, Hong Kong, the Bahamas as well as American military bases around the world.

The group has been featured in Rolling Stone and Showbiz Magazine as well as on NBC, CBS and ABC television shows. The Beatles’ resident band for “Legends in Concert,” the world’s first and longest-running tribute show, the group performs in Las Vegas and Branson, Missouri.

Their tribute performance encompasses all eras of Beatles music, from the Hamburg era to the Shea Stadium performance to the Magic Sgt of pop history. Pepper Album and Beyond.

“Yesterday – The Beatles Tribute” was voted the #1 Tribute Act by The Fremont Street Experience, an entertainment and gaming attraction in Las Vegas. Additionally, according to the band’s website, it was the longest-running show – for three years – at the Tropicana Hotel Casino Resort in Atlantic City.

The Nov. 15 show will last about two hours, with one intermission, said Don Bellezzo, the group’s founder. Rhythm guitarist and lead singer, he embodies John Lennon.

Bellezzo is described as a dedicated musician whose “melodious expertise and brilliant voice create an undeniably striking stage presence enhanced by perfect manners, seating posture and stunning visual appearance…(which stir) cherished memories of the one and only John Lennon ”, according to the website.

At the Northwood event, he will be joined on stage by Rich Fazzi, as Paul McCartney; Danny Leavitt, as George Harrison; and Tony Felicetta, as Ringo Starr.

Audiences can expect “a live recreation of the Beatles in concert,” Bellezzo said in a telephone interview. He expects that “probably more than 99 percent of the public has never seen the Beatles.”

Over the past 25 years since the group’s inception, artists have perfected the Fab Four’s “sound, look and mannerisms,” he said.

“All songs are written in the original key, without any attenuation”, to accurately reflect the higher-pitched male vocals of Lennon and McCartney.

Fazzi, a natural left-handed bassist, is a multi-talented California native who transports audiences to a more carefree era with his interpretation of McCartney.

Leavitt, as lead guitarist and vocalist, embodies Harrison with striking stage presence and movements.

Felicetta plays the fun and light-hearted Ringo Starr, with “a stunning style (and) a sparkling personality that shines through in all his drum patterns and precise fills,” according to the website.

Bellezzo, a Chicago native, said he started out as a singer and acoustic guitarist and played music — including music by Neil Young and the Eagles — in the student union cafe while attending the University. from Loyola.

“Every time I did Beatles songs, people went crazy,” he said. They commented that he looked like McCartney. So he started wearing a black turtleneck and took on the role; the band grew from there.

For the November 15 event in Northwood, tickets may be available at the door, but this is not guaranteed.

Proceeds from the event will support future programming at the Performing Arts Center. The Northwood Performing Arts Council is a non-profit community organization. It is located at 420 Trojan Road, Northwood.

Tickets cost $50.
